About Us

The Indian Himalayan Council of Nalanda Buddhist Tradition (IHCNBT) is an Indian Trans Himalayan Sangha Council body with its Headquarters at New Delhi.

The Sangha Council has been established under the supreme patronage of Nalanda Buddhist hierarchy with membership from all the Indian Himalayan Buddhist organizations and includes lay Buddhist organizations and Lay people.

IHCNBT is to work for Preservation and Promotion of Indian Himala yan Naland a Buddhist tradition, Culture and to develop the Institutions as centres of learning amongst all the traditions of Nalanda Buddhism in the Indian Himalayan region and instil a Nationalist perspective of Nalanda as origin of Buddhism.

With the founding and formation of IHCNBT under the Patronage of Nalanda Buddhist Spiritual masters from all the traditions from all

across the Trans Indian Himalayan region spanning from Western Himalayas of Ladakh, Lahaul-Spiti-K.innaur, Kaza (HP), Uttarkashi, Donda in Uttrakahnd to eastern Himalayas of Sikkim, Darjeeling-Kalimpong (WB) to Monyul­ Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, IHCNBT is committed to National integration of Indian Himalayan region.
