Aims & Objectives
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The main Aims and objects of Indian Himalayan Council of
Nalanda Buddhist Tradition are:-
to work for preservation and
promotion of Nalanda tradition
Buddhist culture, Art, Languages of
the Indian Himalayas,
for preservation and promotion of
traditional bond between monastic
community and the lay people,
to develop a sense of community
among the Indian Himalayan people,
To foster kinship between gyrate
cultures and philosophies in India,

to develop monastery as a Centre of
learning & excellence to strengthen
the Buddhist cultural institutions in the
Indian Himalayan region,
to develop modern scientific education
curriculum for monasteries and
formation of Monastic Education
Board for all Monastic schools across
the Himalayan region
to work for preparation of a
comprehensive strategy of
engagement with leading Buddhist
masters in the hierarchy of all sects of Nalanda Buddhist traditions.
to work as a Think Tank body that will
work with governments and Non governmental organizations to
facilitate dialogue, study and research
programs
to organize seminars, workshops,
symposiums and exchange programs
of Buddhist culture to foster
constructive and peaceful cooperation
and coordination among social
entities.
to undertake, organize and facilitate
study courses, conferences, seminars,
lectures and research in matters
relating to different cultural patterns of
the world;
to undertake, facilitate and provide for
the publication of news- letters,
research papers and books and of a
journal for the exposition of cultural
patterns and values prevailing in
different parts of the world;
To diffuse useful knowledge.
Society will investmits surplus, money
and funds according to Sections-11(5)
of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
