Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,
At the outset, I express my gratitude for electing me as the new President of IHCNBT after the end of tenure of First President H.E Lochen Tulku Rinpoche. It shall be my sincere endeavour to work for IHCNBT. It is very special and happy to note that the Indian Himalayan Council of Nalanda Buddhist Tradition (IHCNBT) has been formed as Indian National Sangha Council with its Headquarters at New Delhi with the blessings and patronage of His Holiness Dalai Lama, His Holiness Karmapa and heads of all Nalanda tradition spiritual masters.
IHCNBT is formed to work for Preservation and Promotion of Indian Himalayan Nalanda Buddhist tradition, Culture, language and to develop the Institutions as centres of learning amongst all the traditions of Nalanda Buddhism in the Indian Himalayan region with Indian perspective of Nalanda as origin of Buddhism.
It is pleasure to learn that IHCNBT is bringing out a new updated Brochure highlighting the programs and many initiatives since its inception on the path of working for the objectives from National conference on Himalayas in Gurugram on 29th & 30th June 2018 to Buddhist conclaves and meetings 2021 all across the Trans Indian Himalayan region spanning from Western Himalayas of Ladakh, Lahoul - Spiti-Kinnaur, Kaza (HP), Uttarkashi, Donda in Uttrakahand to eastern Himalayas of Sikkim, Darjeeling-Kalimpong (WB) to Monyul Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh and formation of Board of Sangha of IHCNBT consisting of spiritual masters and monk scholars from all the traditions of Himalayan region to the second General Assembly of IHCNBT held in 2025 and the Constitution of the new Governing Council.
I am happy that IHCNBT has done important work for the monastic education curriculum recognised by NIOS education Board, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India which will go a long way in the development of Nalanda Buddhism in India.
My best wishes and prayers.
